Help Change Ohio School Funding
Take action by Friday, January 19, 2007
In the state of Ohio, schools are funded largely through local property
taxes making the need for frequent levies necessary. This way of funding
has been ruled unconstitutional 4 times and will continue until a new formula of funding is put into law. School Funding was one of the top issues in the November elections making it apparent that Columbus is aware Ohioans want change. Everyone can take part in helping change school funding.
Ohio Citizens for School Funding Reform (OCSFR) is beginning a second letter writing campaign. The OCSFR website has copies of the letters to Governor-elect Strickland, and the House & Senate leadership positions of each committee which directly affects school funding. The members of the OCSFR are asking everyone concerned to download , print, and sign the 15 letters. Signed letters can be dropped off at any Milford School Office to
be picked up by OCSFR. The core members of this group will hand deliver
all letters to Columbus in late January. If anyone cannot download the letters, please contact OCSFR info@ocsfr.com and a volunteer will be happy to provide you with a packet of letters. The OCSFR website http://www.ocsfr.com also has information to help explain school funding in Ohio.
