The Ohio
Democratic Party has an immediate opening for
our first full-time Women's Caucus Political
Coordinator. We are seeking an energetic,
experienced organizer who will build
relationships among progressive Democratic
women and women's groups and who can mobilize
this constituency to work with the Ohio
Democratic Party to elect Democratic
candidates. The focus of this position is to
build a strong, highly effective political
network of Democratic women across the state
and to assist in efforts to recruit more women
to elected office. This position will manage
all organizing activities in association with
women, in partnership with the Ohio Democratic
Women's Caucus Board of Directors and ODP's
Political Department. Fundraising -- direct
solicitation, private fundraisers and large
events - is also a key part of this
position.

Field
Director
The Ohio Democratic Party
is seeking a highly qualified candidate to
serve as Field Director. Ideal candidates will
have extensive field experience in a management
role and experience working in Ohio. This
position in based in Columbus. Responsibilities
include:
* Planning and supervising the
execution of the ODP and Ohio Coordinated
Campaign's paid and volunteer voter contact
program.
* Managing Regional Field
Directors and training and coaching field
staff.
* Designing and implementing a
voter contact training program for staff, local
leaders, and activists.
* Setting goals
for field staff and monitoring progress against
those goals.
* Working with the
Political Director and others to ensure that
the ODP and the Ohio Coordinated Campaign have
the support of key stakeholders.

Working with the Targeting Director to identify
targets for persuasion and sporadic voting

Field
Organizers
The Ohio Democratic Party
is seeking several highly organized self
starters to serve as Field Organizers. Ideal
candidates are energetic, motivated team
players able to maintain a campaign-like pace
until November 2008. Field organizers will be
strategically located around Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
*
Implementation of ODP field & political
plans; work with county parties, local
organizations & candidates to tailor the
ODP plans to fit the local landscape.
*
Recruit volunteers, precinct captains; assist
allied organizations & candidates with
petition drives; organize phone banks, door to
door canvassing and recruit
volunteers.
* Work with voterfile to
identify & target voters; cut turf and
lists.
* Complete weekly activity
reports detailing metrics & progress made
towards goals.
* Serve as ODP liaison to
local grassroots organizations & county
parties in your region.
* Attend &
staff events on behalf of ODP; occasionally
speak on behalf of ODP.

Municipal Caucus
Director
The Ohio Democratic Party
is a looking for a highly organized self
starter to serve as Municipal Caucus Director.
Ideal candidates are energetic, motivated team
players able to maintain a campaign-like pace
until November 2008. The Caucus Director will
report to the ODP Political Director, and will
be based in Columbus, Ohio.
* Creating
statewide organizations of Democratic elected
officials, including but not limited to Mayors,
Sheriffs, County Commissioners, Auditors, etc.
These organizations will be member-led, with
staff support from the Caucus Director. The
purpose of these organizations will be to share
experience among members, advise and assist
Democratic candidates for relevant offices, and
connect local officials to the state
party.
* The Caucus Director will work
to recruit members, create charters, and
convene meetings; once the organizations elect
leaders from within the ranks of their members,
the Caucus Director will assist the Presidents
of the organizations with the day-to-day
operations of the caucus, including member
services, caucus fundraising, and candidate
support.
* The Caucus Director will work
with statewide campaigns and with regional ODP
Field staff to involve local elected officials
in statewide campaigns and events.
* The
Caucus Director will be part of Coordinated
Campaign discussions, to represent the
interests of local elected officials and to
communicate information about statewide plans
to local members.

Minority/Ethnic
coordinator
The Ohio Democratic
Party is seeking a highly organized self
starter to design, implement and execute the
Party's statewide outreach program to minority
and ethnic communities, with the goal being to
broaden the Party's base of support in key
communities. Organizer will learn to use VAN
(voter file) and will conduct trainings for
activists on list cutting, strategic targeting
and general voter file usage. Coordinator will
also work to identify influential members of
various communities, both in Ohio and
nationally, and will work with both local and
national organizations to encourage
participation by activists in trainings.
Candidate will also be involved in message
training, fundraising, press strategy,
volunteer recruitment, and additional
activities.

COMMUNICATIONS
Deputy
Communication Director
The Ohio
Democratic Party is seeking a hard-working,
experienced deputy Communication Director. The
deputy director will assist in day-to-day
communications activity and will have a direct
report to the Communications Director but will
also assist the online and research directors.
Responsibilities will include research on
various subject, organizing press events,
drafting documents and talking points, and
assisting in general office and communications
functions as needed. Applicants must have
excellent writing and editing skills.
Applicants must be a 'news junkie' and posses a
thorough understanding of the political
process. Applicants should have strong
analytical and research skills and work well in
a high pressure environment.

Research
Director
The Ohio Democratic Party
is hiring a full-time Research Director to
conduct detailed research on policy, issues,
and candidates. Applicant must have experience
conducting in-depth strategic research and
analysis of candidates or committees. Applicant
must have experience with Microsoft Access,
Lexi/Nexis and relevant research tools. Minimum
2 years of campaign related experience or
equivalent. Strong writing skills are a must.
Additionally, Research Director will monitor
in-state schedules for Republican presidential
hopefuls and major surrogates, including
attending public events.

FINANCE
Deputy
Finance Director
The Ohio Democratic
Party is looking to hire a deputy finance
director. The deputy is responsible for
tracking fundraiser events, producing
fundraisers, including list prospecting,
invitation creation, invitation mailing, phone
call follow-up, and working with hosts to
complete fundraising logistics. In addition the
deputy finance director is responsible for
managing Chairman call time, including
preparing, running, and following up call time.
Additional duties include updating database
with call time notes, and producing host and
VIP finance thank you letters.

Assistant
The Ohio Democratic Party
is looking to hire a Finance Assistant.
Position is responsible for donor research,
processing checks, updating the finance
database with contribution information,
updating the database with data changes,
assisting the deputy finance director with
fundraisers, managing lists, vetting donors,
and producing daily contribution
letters.

TECHNOLOGY
Technology
Director
The Ohio Democratic Party
is seeking an experienced and self-motivated
Technology Director. Responsibilities include
overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and
troubleshooting of all IT infrastructure, such
as desktop and laptop computers, network
devices, servers, back-up system, VPN,
telephones, mail machine, blackberrys and other
associated peripherals. Technology director
will also research and recommend new
technologies, services, software, and hardware,
and manage email system and spam filtering
software. Additional duties: Execute daily,
weekly and monthly back-ups of data server.
Work with vendors to maintain consistent
service of printers, copiers and fax machines.
Serve as the primary technical point person for
the state voter file system, VoteBuilder, and
be able to write, run, and manipulate database
queries. Work with the Director of Targeting to
create user accounts, manage user
administration requests, and train activists
across the state on how to use the system. Work
with Democratic National Committee database
administrators to manage the acquisition of new
lists and data and ensure that the Ohio
Democratic Party.
